Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Medieval Mile Museum's walking tours, highlighting the guides' exceptional knowledge and engaging storytelling that brings Kilkenny's history to life. The museum's setting within a historic church is also a significant draw, offering a tangible connection to the past. While the museum itself is fascinating, the guided tours are often cited as the absolute highlight of a Kilkenny visit.
"Kilkenny-This was a great tour, very interesting. Our guide did a great job sharing the history while holding our interest. He even mentioned there is a ghost tour which would visit many the same sites we saw. The old St Mary’s is a beautiful building. Really glad we did this. The walk lasts about an hour, covers maybe a mile (definitely not more than 1 1/2)."

"My family and I had a fantastic experience here! We took the museum’s walking tour of the Medieval Mile with John, and it was our favorite part of our entire weeklong trip to Ireland. John brought Kilkenny’s history to life with stories that were both informative and entertaining. The information he shared really helped us contextualize the rest of the sights we saw and tours we went on that day. He also had great recommendations for where to eat and what to see!
The museum not only has artifacts that share a lot about Kilkenny’s and Ireland’s history, but the structure of the museum itself, since it is housed in a renovated a medieval church, also showcases the city’s history.
If you’re visiting Kilkenny, the walking tour (offered twice daily) and museum are a must-see!"

"I loved the Medieval Mile Trail tour that we did through the Medieval Mile Museum. Our guide John was an absolute delight. He was able to give us historical facts with humor that kept us engaged the whole time. This was one of the first things my boyfriend and I did when visiting Kilkenny and would highly recommend it at the start of a trip - it was a great way to learn about the city as you explored! Highly recommend this tour - especially with John!"
