What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Leenane's stunning natural beauty, particularly Killary Fjord and Aasleagh Falls. The friendly and accommodating staff at local establishments, especially the hotel, are frequently highlighted, along with the delicious fresh seafood. Some rooms may be a bit dated or have challenging access, and the village itself has limited services, but the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive.
"Has a fabulous stay here for 3 nights this week. The staff are so friendly and go out of their way to make it a great stay. My dad was even sang happy birthday to at dinner even though I only mentioned it on the booking email weeks earlier (as he’s elderly & I was explaining that I hoped for a room with not much walking as he’s turning 80 on the trip!)! I was so impressed that, that little detail made it to our meal in the bar weeks later."

"Our room was only accessible by going outside, in the rain and up very steep metal staircase. The room itself was about standard with limited space for suitcases or toiletries in the WC. The location of the hotel is amazing, right across from the fjord. The town itself, a 10 minute walk has limited services but the hotel had a varied and reasonable menu. The staff was very personable and accommodating."

"We took a stay at the lodge. It was great, people were nice and we went to the restaurant of the hotel which was good too ! We took the salmon filet, the mussels and the fish of the day which was a COD. Everything was delicious and well seasoned. We were also given side dishes that were good ! Nothing to add, very well seasoned."
