Guests consistently praise Lough Eske Castle for its stunning beauty, luxurious accommodations, and exceptional staff. The spacious rooms, exquisite grounds, and high-quality dining are frequently highlighted as major draws. While the rural location requires some travel, most visitors find the peaceful retreat and the overall five-star experience well worth the journey.
"We had a fabulous stay in Lough Eske. We got their 3 nights for 2 deal which was incredibly good value. The room was gorgeous, spacious and spotlessly clean and the setting of the castle was so beautiful and peaceful. The staff were amazing, and gave us a lovely warm Donegal welcome. There were loads of little areas in the castle to sit have a coffee or drink, and the photography exhibition of Father Brown's pictures was so interesting. Plus there's loads to do in the local areas so it's the perfect place for a relaxing weekend. Special shout out to Shea, Dylan, Eugene and Gerard for their excellent service - highly recommend Gerard's walking history tour!"

"This place is incredible. The rooms are bigger than most apartments I've lived in. Extremely comfortable and spacious. The interior is bedecked in wonderful art, and the nature and sculpture of the grounds are an attraction all by themselves. The food is quite good and available at very flexible times. Which is good, because the it is a bit of a hike to get to another place to eat. This is definitely a rural retreat, so maybe not the best choice for exploring the city. Donegal isn't too far away, though.
But there are plenty of reasons to stay in or near the castle. The on site spa is incredible, offering massages, a pool, and thermal suite. The woods around the castle are gorgeous, and have many scenic trails.
The only thing I wish the castle had is a map of the property. As you might expect of a castle, it's VAST, and easy to get lost. There are many short cuts, but you kind of have to find them on your own."

"Wow, this is a special place! The grounds and castle are stunning in every regard. The room was gigantic and all of the staff were delightful and very welcoming. We went on the half hour horse and cart with Theresa the horse, and highly recommend doing so. It’s incredibly scenic and calming, traversing through the beautiful forest listening to hoofs clip-clopping. Dinner at the restaurant and breakfast the next morning were both excellent, and cocktails at the bar were scrumptious - get the bramble! There is a spa on site as well, and option to book outdoor jacuzzi’s in the gardens. We were very sad to leave such a magical place."
