Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently rave about the absolutely stunning and breathtaking views from Mamore Gap, describing it as a must-see on the Inishowen Peninsula. The unique 'Magic Road' and the spiritual holy well add to its charm, offering a blend of natural beauty and quirky attractions. While the weather can be unpredictable, the dramatic landscapes are always worth the visit.
"Mamore Gap is easily one of the most breathtaking and memorable places I visited during my recent trip to County Donegal. Tucked away in the Inishowen Peninsula, this mountain pass offers incredible views that genuinely take your breath away. As you ascend the narrow, winding road, you're treated to sweeping vistas of hills, valleys, and the Atlantic Ocean in the distance—it’s like driving into a postcard.
At the summit, there’s a small parking area where you can pull over, take photos, and just soak in the stillness. The peaceful silence combined with the wild, rugged beauty of the surrounding landscape makes it a perfect spot to reflect and disconnect. The weather was mixed during our visit, but the shifting clouds and light added even more drama to the views.
There’s also a lovely holy well and a small shrine near the top, which gives the place a spiritual, almost mystical feel. Locals still visit it regularly, and it's a quiet, respectful space worth taking a moment to appreciate.
It’s not a tourist-heavy spot, which makes the experience feel even more special and authentic. If you're driving the Wild Atlantic Way or exploring Inishowen, Mamore Gap is an absolute must-see. Just take your time on the drive—it’s steep and winding, but so worth it."

"A good starting point to hike on Urris Ridge. One of Ireland's classic coastal hikes with stunning views and the Magic Road within 100 metres. Mamore Hill immediately on the east side of the Grotto is a good place to see the northern lights when visible this far south."
