"I came here to watch the new jurassic world movie with my 3 kids I was very disappointed to see that they did not have a cinema screen. However the beautiful stone correlating on the outside of the church fascinated them and kept them busy for hours allowing my to have my cigarettes."

"With a few hours to kill and not anything open due to the order from the Irish Junta for the Covid nonsense, there was very little else to do in the town but pay a visit to the Cathedral.
A pretty big Cathedral for the town and not much to look at from the outside, inside was an air of tranquility, only a few people wandering around, some in deep prayer and contemplation, while I just took a nice walk by the pews to look at the beautiful murals and frescos, but also to gaze at the amazing mosaics on the floors with their intricate designs put in place piece by piece, how long it must have taken but very unique.
Yes it was a good place to wander on a slow day."

"Grandiose cathedral for a place of only 20.000 inhabitants. One of the biggest cathedral's I've visited in Ireland, and very different than the most. Writings on the floor at entrance door, flat and not round ceiling, St. Brigid's cross on the pillars near altar, St. Jacobs shell on the monument outside the Cathedral are some of the details that are very different from other cathedrals in Ireland. If in Midlands and Westmeath this is a place to visit, no matter if you are not Catholic or Christian."
