Rocky Bay Beach is lauded for its stunning natural beauty, dramatic rocky walls, and safe, clean waters ideal for swimming. Visitors appreciate its tranquil atmosphere and the unique charm of its hidden caves. However, some find the sandy areas limited, especially after winter storms, and parking can be a challenge.
"Beautiful beach, incredible rocky walls around it. We went there when the tide was low, so there was more space to stay, but the sand was still very wet. Not many dry spaces to stay. Very small parking area."

"My visit to Rocky Bay in Cork was truly delightful. It stands out as a very good and, importantly, a safe beach in the area. The atmosphere was so pleasant and inviting, making it easy to relax and soak in the surroundings. The natural beauty of the coastline is captivating, with lovely views and a sense of tranquility. It's definitely a place I'd recommend to anyone looking for a safe and enjoyable beach experience in County Cork."

"Arrived at the beach 3rd March 2025 and was shocked to see the sand has mostly gone. It must have lost a metre of sand in places, exposing the rocky shelf below. From what I can see it looks like a lot of sand has moved out towards the sea, the sand goes a lot further out at low tide. It was low tide when I visited so I was able to walk the sand but I had to walk over the rocky shelf to get there. Clearly the winter storms did the damage, maybe the stream flooded also. I hope it comes back, it had lovely sand."
