What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Pollardstown Fen for its beautiful, tranquil surroundings and the well-maintained, accessible boardwalk, making it ideal for short, relaxing walks with family and pets. However, some express disappointment over the perceived lack of upkeep on outer paths and a feeling that this important European fen is underutilized and neglected.
"This place used to really beautiful but is now supposedly closed. The boardwalk is still being maintained but all the paths are overgrown.
This is one of the most important fens in Europe yet it’s abandoned, simply not good enough. Why is nothing being done with this fantastic place?"
Gareth Landy
"I love it here, walk is quite short but suits with my elderly dog. Beautiful, tranquil surroundings and always a beautiful walk"
Jeanette Dermody
"Free entry. Plenty of parking. Map pin was a little off. We visited early August, after lunch. Me and my 3 kids under 5yrs. We loved it. Anyone we met on the trail was friendly. Met one dog on leash and one off leash. The trail is perfect for a buggy. I would say it's an easy walk. One lady was walking for exercise and lapped is 4 times 😅 life is a little slower with 3babies 😅"
