What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Teeling Whiskey Distillery for its authentic, working distillery experience and the quality of its Irish whiskey. The knowledgeable guides and the opportunity to fill your own bottle are frequently highlighted as memorable aspects. While generally well-received, some find the tours a bit short compared to other distilleries.
"Teeling Distillery – Whiskey wisdom, without the cobwebs
A very enjoyable tour with great staff and modern facilities. I’ve done my fair share of distillery visits, and while this one doesn’t come with crumbling stone walls or misty moors, it more than makes up for it by being compact, clean, and genuinely interesting.
They manage to cover the science, tradition, and pride behind the product faster and more clearly than many of the older, grander spots – ideal even for today’s attention-span-challenged youth (yes, I’m apparently old enough to say that now...).
Our guide, Gary, was superb – insightful, entertaining, and clearly knowledgeable. The rest of the staff were equally excellent.
And the whiskey? I tried four wildly different drams – all fantastic (well, not so much the peaty one, but that's me). Honestly, I wasn’t expecting to be that impressed, but I was.
Conclusion: Do the tour. Go for the three or four-sample option, sit back, sip, and enjoy. You won’t regret it – though your suitcase might gain a bottle or two."

"Visited on a Sunday morning and really enjoyed our tour. We picked the €35 ticket and had 3 sample whiskey.
Tour guide Marc was brilliant.
Food and toilets available on site. After the tour and tasting we went to the bar and tried some other whiskeys, I really loved Wonders of Wood & the Japanese Edition which I purchased.
Recommend visiting for a great tour, tasting and fun.
Non alcoholic drinkers can avail of a cocktail."

"My husband and I enjoyed the tour and tasting immensely. We really enjoyed learning the history of this distillery. Out of the tastings we have had in Dublin this was the best! We are still doing some travelling but will be buying Teeling at the airport to carry home."

For Different Travelers
Tailored advice for your travel style
👨👩👧 Families with Kids
It's important to note that tasting is central to the experience, and children will not be able to participate in this. However, the gift shop and bar area are accessible, and the overall atmosphere can be engaging. Consider booking a tour during off-peak hours for a potentially calmer experience. For younger children, a shorter tour or focusing on the historical aspects might be more suitable.
💰 Budget Travelers
To maximize savings, consider visiting during weekdays when tours might be less crowded and potentially more flexible. Also, look out for any special offers or packages that might be available on their website. Even if you opt for a shorter tour or just visit the bar, you can still enjoy the atmosphere and perhaps a single drink without the full tour cost.
🥃 Whiskey Enthusiasts
Explore the premium tour options that offer tastings of their more exclusive bottlings, such as the Single Malt or limited-edition releases. The chance to fill your own bottle directly from a barrel is a unique experience that many enthusiasts cherish as a special memento. Engaging with the knowledgeable guides and potentially even meeting a member of the Teeling family adds to the authentic experience.
