"This is one of the best beaches in the area, if not the best (it’s really the northern-most part of Killiney beach, but it has its own access, and is cut off from the rest of the beach at high tide). It’s about half and half stones to sand, but the sand is closest to the water, which is good for getting in and out. There’s a shelter for changing, and it’s secluded by the sheer cliff face (but at the same time, if you’re in the water you can see the faces on the DART above as it goes by). There are toilets, but they are at the top of the walkway. This walkway is probably worth taking into consideration. It is mostly a gently sloped path, but there are about 60-70 steps to go down and up again. But it is worth it. The water is clear, and the view from Dalkey Island to the north, down to Bray Head and the Sugarloaf to the south is stunning, as is the green of Killiney Hill above. It’s also east-facing, so best enjoyed in the morning.
Parking is limited on Vico Road (about 20 spots), but is free, so get there early. Alternatively, you could park either at the Sorrento terrace end, or in the Rock Lodge estate at the top of the hill, but either will add a 10-15 minute walk. Lots of bike parking at the entrance also."
