"This place is picturesque and peaceful, but it’s important to know that it stands on the land of the former Palestinian village of ʿAyn Hawd, which was depopulated in 1948. The name was later changed to “Ein Hod.” While the art and atmosphere are lovely, the transformation of a once-inhabited village into an artist colony without acknowledging its original people feels like an erasure of history. Places like this should honor the truth and memory of those who lived here before."
