What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Design Museum Holon for its stunning, futuristic architecture by Ron Arad and its high-quality, thought-provoking exhibitions. The unique spiral design enhances the visitor experience, though some note the museum is compact. While generally well-received, checking exhibition themes beforehand is recommended to ensure alignment with personal interests.
"The museum is located relatively far from the center of Tel Aviv.
However, you can easily reach it by public transportation from the Savidor train station or the renowned Ariel shopping center.
The museum complex (the museum and mediatheque) is a complete ensemble that combines concept, implementation, and functionality.
Its modern, futuristic architecture inspires inspiration. The rational separation of the museum and library allows visitors to choose according to their needs, reducing excessive crowding and fuss.
Along the perimeter of both buildings are numerous recreation areas with a variety of designs. This allows you to choose a spot based on weather conditions (important in Israel), your preferences, and simply enjoy the fresh air while someone else buys tickets and begins your immersion in art.
There's literally a location for every taste, as the complex has its own cafeteria. To be honest, it didn't tempt me (I'll say that's not an indicator, as I'm picky about this).
The main building consists of several levels:
- basement - first floor
- main floor on the first.
The museum's internal logistics are basically spiral-shaped. This reminded me of the Bottle House building on the historic Holland Island in my native St. Petersburg. This shape helps to organically regulate the speed of movement without excessive crowding, allowing for viewing the optimal portion of the exhibition. Along the way, you can use the restroom without disrupting the flow of visitors.
Thematic halls are also located in the wings of the spiral.
- level 2. It's smaller in area than the first, but the zoning is useful for switching between rooms and the exhibition as a whole.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to visit the mediatheque, as I arrived there just before closing time. However, the museum staff politely let me onto the first floor to appreciate the atmosphere for the future. I enjoyed exploring the halls through the glass walls, estimating how much time to allocate for my next visit, taking a breath after viewing the exhibition, and planning my return route in a calm and refreshed state.
Result: I expected it to take a couple of hours, but in reality, four flew by.
I wish the museum would develop its marketing so that the entrance sticker/ticket will last longer as a souvenir, rather than wearing off in a couple of days. A piece of you as a keepsake is an investment in inspiration))
PS: nearby - animation museum.
So keep in mind that men and children can be sent there. Or, for a change of scenery, this kind of art is another option."

"The Design Museum Holon is housed in a stunning and unconventional building — an architectural masterpiece that’s worth seeing on its own. The current exhibition was quite specific and niche in theme, which may not appeal to everyone, but it was thought-provoking. The museum itself is small and compact, so the visit doesn’t take long. Still, it was an interesting and inspiring stop, especially for design and architecture lovers."

"Very good museum, located in the middle of Holon.
took us about 20 minutes from Tel Aviv.
we came to see the exhibition of "Alber Elbaz".
behind the museum you have a lot of free parking so you don't need to worry about this issue.
the exhibition was very interesting and beautiful, there are 3 levels.
-1 level was about his journey with some designs of him and some stories.
0 level is a circular narrow path which explain all his life with info and photos on the walls.
1 level is the main exhibition which shows designs for many design brands .
the ticket price not high at all and fits to everyone.
Very recommended!"
