What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the scenic promenade and its connection to Tel Aviv Port, especially for sunset views. While the power station itself is an operational industrial site, its surrounding area offers a pleasant space for walks and enjoying the coastline. Some find the power station detracts from the natural view, but the promenade's appeal often outweighs this.
"A power plant standing there just to spoil the magnificent view on the coast line and the sea from the Tel Aviv Port and from the public gardens surrounding it.
But if you walk on its promenade, turning your back on it, then this might be definitely worth the walk."

"Reading Power Station is a very interesting and impressive facility, located in the northwestern part of Tel Aviv at the mouth of the Yarkon River.
It is a natural gas fueled thermal power station supplying electrical power to the Tel Aviv District.
The station, built in 1938, was the country's first turbine, with a capacity of 12 MW. It was named for Rufus Isaacs, 1st Marquess of Reading, Lord Chief Justice of England.
The station is operative nowadays only when there are high electricity demands.
It has a production capacity of 5% of Israel's total electricity consumption
Reading station is situated near the Tel Aviv sea shore promenade and it is a nice spot for walking, jogging or simply watch beautiful sunsets."

"The old Tel Aviv power station was established in 1938 and went on to provide large amounts of Israel’s power supply.
In 2005, the plant switched to natural gas that arrived at the site via pipeline. It now supplies only 4.5 percent of the power consumed in the country but still remains important due to its location in central Israel.
The site is nowadays also home to walking, running and biking paths that surround Reading and connect it with the bustling Tel Aviv Port complex, and has become a visual icon on the beautiful landscape of Tel Aviv."
