Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Agira Canadian War Cemetery to be a beautifully maintained and deeply moving tribute to Canadian soldiers. It's a place of profound reflection on sacrifice and bravery, offering a peaceful yet somber experience. While some wish for more national symbols, the overall sentiment is one of gratitude and respect for the fallen.
"On March 30, 2024 my sister and I visited this beautiful cemetery. We came from Canada to spread some of our mother’s ashes on the grave of her beloved first husband, Frank Hall. Lt. Hall (age 32) was killed in August, 1943, during the Allied invasion of Sicily. This lovely cemetery, where so many Canadian soldiers lie, is a fitting memorial of their bravery and sacrifices, and is a reminder of the price paid by so many for the liberties we enjoy today."

"It's very nice to see it taken care of.
So many people, especially the younger generation, have no idea of the effort these people gave. My uncle fought here but managed to come home to raise a family. I feel some of his comrads may be here. I would have liked to see the Red Ensign and / or Union Jack next to our new Canadian flag at half mast here."

"Worth the stop on the drive across Sicily. A somber reminder of the gruesome history of the region and rough terrain faced during the war. Thank you to those who maintain the area and pay respects to the fallen."
