What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Alba Sotterranea for its fascinating underground exploration and knowledgeable guides, particularly Chiara, who is noted for her expertise and ability to engage all ages. The bell tower climb is a memorable highlight. However, some non-Italian speakers found the English handouts insufficient, emphasizing the importance of booking dedicated English tours.
"We booked a guided tour at very short notice for an extended family of nine. Really quick handling of reservation, clear instructions, followed by a lovely tour over three sites. Our guide Chiara was superbly knowledgeable, patient with three fidgety kids, and gave a detailed view on the life of medieval residents, the Roman times and the ancient Ligurians. Kids loved the "bit scary" bell tower climb at the end of the tour.
I would warmly recommend this tour to anybody. The admission included the bell tower visit and free entrance to the museum afterwards."

Kate Charman
"The tour was in Italian language, english handouts is available, the tour guide was very friendly and knows the story very well ( she's an archeologist ) it was very interesting although we saw only some part of the ruins because the tours are seasonal."
