I’ll be visiting Italy (Roma) for the first time in about 3 weeks. What are some “off the beaten path” places to see?
Pertaining to Ancient Rome, obviously. I’m looking for things that aren’t all over Google (colosseum, Forum, Pompeii/Herculaneum). We will be doing an Italian road trip, so anywhere in Italy would be awesome! We’re going from Milan -> Venice -> Pompeii -> Rome ->…

Interesting places outside of Rome, closer to cruise port
We're traveling to Rome next year to cruise out of the port. With next year being the jubilee year I have given up hope of doing any sightseeing in Rome. I have a hotel booked in Testaccio that could be an option and i would avoid the super touristy sites. Or is there…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Aniene Falls a beautiful natural escape from Rome's crowds, praising the impressive cascades and the scenic Villa Gregoriana. While the falls are magical, some note that certain viewpoints are harder to access or require caution. The area offers a refreshing break with opportunities for light hiking and enjoying nature's power.
"A beautiful area with good trails and views."

"I feel bad assigning a certain number of stars to something like this, because it is simply beautiful. But if Angel Falls (or Niagra) is 5 stars, this is 3-4. If you need a break from the crowds, noise and jostling of Rome, take the short train ride to Tivoli and come see these falls. It is very short walk from train station to the falls themselves and you can see more of them from Villa Gregoriana. Much to do/see in Tivoli including interesting hikes to neighboring peaks"
S. N. Thomas
"I am betting that very few people walk or drive down the road to see the falls from this view. When you are down in the park all the waterfalls are magical, but there are some you cannot see from below. You may be driving along the access road into town and only be able to peek at these falls.
Do yourself a favor. Take a walk down the road and take the time to see the deep part of gregoriano from the street"
