What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Ciclopedonale Arenzano Cogoleto for its unique blend of history, nature, and accessibility. The transformation of the old railway line into a scenic path, complete with adventurous tunnels and stunning sea views, is widely praised. While generally well-maintained, some minor issues like tunnel drainage and mural upkeep have been noted.
"A beautiful example of reclaiming a former railway line, with just one small problem: the second tunnel, starting from Arenzano, has a short section without drainage due to seepage, and I wonder if that can be fixed! The murals could use some TLC and restoration."
Mario Invernizzi
"Cycle path of about 11 km that starts from Arenzano to reach Varazze crossing the picturesque village of Cogoleto. Obtained from the former railway station ... flat and asphalted but the feeling is of following a nature trail with cliffs overlooking the sea ... dotted with the green of the local vegetation ... and with the numerous short or long tunnels dug into the rock to make it even more suggestive ... furthermore there is no shortage of rest points such as fountains, coves, beaches benches from where you can admire the different shades of blue of the Ligurian Sea. It develops inside the Beigua geopark ... it is part of the Liguria Trail and is loved by cyclists and runners but also by those who simply want to get away from the traffic and daily noise."

"The darkness inside is breathtaking, the rainwater cascading down the walls, and the echoing sounds of cycling through it create a spellbinding effect, making you feel like you're entering a magical, unreal world. The fresh air caressing your skin has a rejuvenating effect."
