What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the stunning beauty and historical significance of the Barberini Gardens, often calling it a must-see escape from Rome's crowds. The serene atmosphere and diverse garden landscapes are frequently praised, along with the helpfulness of the staff and guides. However, some guests have noted discrepancies between advertised tour transport (eco-friendly vehicles) and what is provided (diesel buses), and the audio guide synchronization can sometimes be an issue.
"The Pope was in the gardens during our tour, so there was quite a bit of security and security measures. That was the most exciting part of the tour.
The tour ticket purchased through the Vatican website said the tour would be in an eco-friendly vehicle (aka electric golf cart) but when we arrived we were led past the golf carts and boarded on a diesel bus with a large group, listening to a recording that was not in sync with our view. There was a wedding photography group, who I could empathize with, trying to avoid us being in the background in the gardens at the same time.
I would probably skip this tour and just tour the Papal Palace, if I had a do over."

"Such a wonderful family experience to enjoy the natural beauty of the area! The staff were absolutely fantastic—special thanks to Maysoun for going above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of. Definitely a must-do when visiting!"

"Amazing gardens, very much worth a look if you happen to be in the vicinity. You need to be on a tour, no independent wandering, and the groups are small as you are driven around by golf cart, with stops and information from the driver and audio guide. I was fortunate that there was a space when I arrived but probably best to book in advance. Really interesting history and beautifully kept, and only 14 gardeners to look after the whole thing apparently. Interestingly, the estate is 55 acres, which is bigger than Vatican city, of which it is essentially part. Thank you to Fabrizio, very enthusiastic and informative guide."
