What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors are drawn to the Chiesa di San Pietro for its rich artistic treasures, particularly the wooden carvings by Andrea Brustolon and the altarpiece by Sebastiano Ricci. The basilica's long history, evident in its architecture and remodels, is also a significant point of interest. While entry is free, adherence to a strict dress code is essential.
"I've never managed to enter the church, but the exterior has always attracted me, due to its Franciscan simplicity and the unusual fact that the façade was set back in the 1700s (after the original construction in the 14th century), leaving visible on the right a pointed arch that must have previously been located inside. A plaque near the entrance states that inside there is also a work by the famous woodcarver Andrea Brustolon. I hope to be able to enter one day!"

"This little church, adjacent to the seminary, brought back memories of my childhood. Now restored, the two wonderful wooden altarpieces, the work of Andrea Brustolon, are once again visible. The two adjoining cloisters offer a moment of peace and tranquility."

"A church in the city center with a long history, as can be deduced from its orientation with the apse facing east; from the church of the Capuchin convent to the seminary church. Remodeled and enriched in the 17th century and beyond, it contains art treasures such as works by Sebastiano Ricci and Brustolon."
