What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Ponte delle Barche a unique and historically interesting engineering marvel. The surrounding natural park and riverside offer pleasant opportunities for walks and relaxation. While the bridge itself is a quick visit, the natural setting enhances the overall experience.
"Built as a temporary bridge at the end of the nineteenth century, it withstood both world wars.
The boats, initially made of wood, were later replaced with the current concrete barges. This type of bridge follows the flow of the river, when the water level rises the boats float."

"It's a strange bridge but kind of cool, I don't think we appreciated the history etc but there is a width limit of 2.2m to cross just incase anyone else is driving a camper van!
There is a car park just before it on the north side which we parked in for free and had a really lovely time on the beach and if you cross the bridge to the south and take a right there is a lovely walk through gorgeous wood land following the river past the water park which we did with the dogs.
Just remember something for the mosquitoes!"
