Reel by @maik.monuments Selecte...

The harmonious atmosphere and exceptional craftsmanship leave a lasting impression, making it a highly recommended visit despite a small admission fee.

"Located in Bergamo’s Città Alta, the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore was built in the 12th century. Its Romanesque-Lombard exterior contrasts with a richly Baroque interior. Originally serving as the baptismal church for the Cathedral of San Vincenzo, it stands beside the historic episcopal curia, preserving centuries of sacred heritage."

"The most beautiful basilica I’ve ever seen.
Every detail is captivating – from the tapestries and wood inlays to the gold accents, paintings, and statues. There’s a sense of harmony and peace inside that makes you want to stay longer and take in every element. You can easily spend a lot of time here just admiring the craftsmanship. The entrance is paid, but it’s absolutely worth it."

Mariana Sadovska

"The church opens on Piazza Duomo, you can buy tickets as you enter.
The external appearance has largely maintained its Romanesque origins, but the interior is largely Baroque.
The choir with the wooden reliefs with Biblical tales are spectacular.
We visited the church on Sunday, after the service, and it was a little crowded, but not disturbing. We also had live organ music throughout the visit, I don't know if it's like that every day, or just on Sundays. The music contributed a lot to the whole atmosphere."
