Many find the scale of the masterpieces breathtaking, though some note that a significant portion of the museum can occasionally be closed for refurbishment. Despite this, most agree it's well worth the visit for art lovers.

"A great gallery and well worth a visit.
We managed to visit the Graduate show at the same time and were very happy to be there when this was on . Lots of good student work that gave us so many ideas to try ourselves when back in Scotland."

DOVETAIL

"A great museum. Where 2 hours were not enough !!! If you like XIV & XV painting and frescoes, this is a beautiful place to be. Plus it is air conditioned 😆"

Agatha Trainer

"Beautiful museum with 30 rooms full of paintings from the thirteenth to the eighteenth century, including the early Renaissance period. They have some absolutely breathtaking masterpieces, paintings that are over 7 meters tall and 3.5 meters wide.
The museum is super clean and there is A/C in most rooms. I would say generally an hour is enough time to see it entirely.
We visited in the morning, at open (9AM), and got tickets on the spot, as there was no line.
Students of art enter for free, and young adults (18-25) pay €2 for entry. The adult ticket is €6."
