What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the wild, rugged beauty of Capo Marrargiu, highlighting its dramatic cliffs and the unique opportunity to see griffon vultures. While hiking can be challenging, the spectacular coastal views and secluded beaches make it a worthwhile destination, especially when explored by boat. Some find car rental services pushy with extra charges.
"Professional workers will quickly provide a car for rent, but unfortunately their efforts to increase the price with additional services and surcharges are annoying."

"The park extends from the small island of Sa Pagliosa to the mouth of the Temo River. Spectacular places, both on land and at sea, worthy of a boat trip or a hike, generally not too difficult except for a few spots. Worth noting is the presence of many bird species, including the griffon vulture."

"Cape Marargiu (or Marrargiu), a coastal promontory north of Bosa, is one of the wildest and most rugged areas of the coastline between Alghero and Bosa. It's an ideal place for hiking, even though there are few accessible paths. Human presence is evident in the few "cuiles" (sheepfolds) or abandoned country houses, and in the small number of livestock (cattle and goats) that graze freely. Dark volcanic rocks characterize the peaks and high cliffs. Between the rocks, and especially in the valleys, stands dense, impenetrable Mediterranean scrub, abundant with brambles, stracciabrache, and other lianas, and a few centuries-old holm oaks and wild olive trees. It's not uncommon to observe griffon vultures in flight; in fact, it's considered the most important nesting site for the Griffon Vulture (Gyps fulvus) in Sardinia and nationwide. Most of the beaches are difficult to reach on foot: the most beautiful are Porto Baosu, Cala Santa Maria and Porto Managu"."
