What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Bosco di Archiforo's deeply serene and magical forest bathing experience, comparing its beauty to exotic locales. The well-marked, easy trails and the tranquil atmosphere are highly praised. However, some find navigation challenging, with unreliable GPS and difficult road access from certain points, leading to frustration for a few.
"I have seen extreme places, battered by winds and scorching sun, immersed in oppressive humidity or enclosed by primordial and wild nature. I have traversed the Americas, trekked across Asia, lost myself in the Old Continent, yet, closing my eyes in this forest, I lose my soul's bearings.
The path of Shinrin-Yoku, "forest bathing," reveals itself as an experience for all the senses. Carefully tended, the undergrowth reveals glimpses and visions that seem drawn from a fabulous tale: the greenery becomes an infinite palette, the scents balms of the soul, sounds totally absent. And my memory, deceived, runs to Madeira and its most daring routes, so beautiful they seem legendary. But no, travelers: we are not on an ocean island, but in Calabria, and this revelation seems all the more incredible.
Come then, follow the dictates of Shinrin-Yoku, let the forest embrace you. The trail is easy, simple, suitable for everyone, and well-marked, but its true promise isn't the destination: here, more than ever, it's not about arriving, but about enjoying the journey, and being reborn with every step.
Just note: to reach it, take the Via delle Foibe from the Ciclovia dei Parchi della Calabria (formerly SS110) and not from Contrada Ombrellino, as the road is impassable from there."

"A fantastic place for an easy-to-medium hike.
The trails are well marked, and the park website provides all the route details and the route.
At the beginning of the trail (after the Rosarella Nursery), there is a sheltered picnic area with tables."
