The symbolic monument of the town was built by the Normans on a previous fortification. The castle preserves the essence of the thousand-year-old events of the city, and bears witness to its past greatness with its majesty. During the seventeenth century it was transformed from a military fortress into a residential palace by the Guevara dukes. It can currently be visited freely, together with the hanging garden, and houses the diocesan museum."
