"Monastery"
Carlo Speranza
"The Capuchin church of the Holy Trinity was founded on 10 August 1626 by the bishop of Bressanone who laid the foundation stone. Simple facade as well as the interior in the spirit of the Chaldean Capuchin friars, while the various aedicules are made of wood and finished with skill. Worth seeing."
Davide V
"The Capuchin church and adjoining convent were consecrated in 1628.
The façade is very simple: yellowish plaster; the entrance door is preceded by a simple porch, above which is a window and a fresco.
Interiorly, it has a single nave, centrally planned. It is simple, with very clean lines. There is an altar and two others at the sides (all made of wood).
A visit is recommended."

History and Purpose of the Capuchin Church and Garden
The Capuchin Garden, developed alongside the convent, served a vital purpose for centuries. It was a hortus conclusus, a walled garden that was both productive and contemplative. Historically, it supplied the convent with fruits, vegetables, and medicinal herbs, and provided flowers for the altars. This garden represents a long tradition of monastic self-sufficiency and connection to nature.
Following significant events like the 2019 acqua alta flood, the garden has been revitalized. It now serves as a tranquil oasis for visitors and a cherished children's playground, blending its historical significance with modern community use.
Architectural Simplicity and Spiritual Design
The interior altars, all made of wood, further underscore this commitment to simplicity and craftsmanship. Unlike the elaborate marble or gilded altars found in many other churches, these wooden structures are finished with skill, offering a warm and grounded aesthetic. This design choice aligns with the Capuchin ideal of living a life of poverty and devotion, focusing on the essential elements of faith.
This architectural style is not merely an aesthetic choice but a theological statement. It invites visitors to experience a more direct and personal connection with the divine, free from distractions. The overall impression is one of peace, humility, and a profound sense of sacredness.
