"Noble palace.
The Government Palace occupies the site of the former Carmelite Convent and was built in the early 18th century.
The nuns never took possession of it, and over the centuries it also housed a prison. Several dignitaries lived there, including King Vittorio Emanuele III, Queen Elena, and Prince Emanuele Filiberto D'Aosta.
