What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Cascate del Menotre for its beautiful, natural scenery with charming waterfalls and lush greenery, making it a refreshing escape. The hike to the medieval Eremo di Santa Maria Giacobbe is a highlight for its historical significance and stunning vistas, though it's noted as a challenging climb. Some find the trails a bit unclear and steep, especially for families with very young children, and advise caution with footwear.
"Lovely hike up the stream with several waterfalls. I also visited the Medieval monastery of Santa Maria Giacobbe up the mountain. Pretty hard climb but beautiful vistas"

"This is my ambivalent opinion... On the one hand, this place is wonderful - the falls are great and offer a beautiful, green and cool entrance to a great climb up the mountain, also their are countless plants, herbs and flower around not to mention the bugs and butterflys. on the other hand the climb itself is a little steep and i would recommend people with kids, toddlers especially, to consider before hand. The trail leading up to them was also a little unclear at first, which led us to take the wrong turn and I ended up with a bad Nettle sting on both my ankles... i should have been more careful..."

"Nice trip along this small but charming river. Some quite nice falls, most of them reachable to touch or dip in the water, which can be nice on the hot summer days. If you visit all falls you will reach the village in about an hour, where you can have a drink or some food. The way down can be done in perhaps 20 minutes."
