Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Cascate di Monte Gelato for its natural beauty, free entry, and proximity to Rome, calling it a 'little piece of paradise.' It's ideal for picnics and short hikes, though some trails are for experts. While swimming isn't allowed, the serene atmosphere and historical remnants are highlights.

"Beautiful small waterfall. Stopped here for a while going for trekking from here to Calcata gateway. Nice place to enjoy relaxing time here. No entry fee required."

MH Kawsar Rudro

"Very nice and calm place
It's clean and organised, let's hope people will follow up with this way.
Lots of paths, most of them only for expert hikers."

lucia vasapollo

"Very nice small waterfalls in the vecinity of Mazzano and Calcata vechia. The parking lot is some 200m away from the waterfalls and if you're not into hiking, you can just take a short visit to the waterfalls and have some rest. If you like to hike or ride a bike, it is highly recommend to follow trail 001, which takes you along the Treja river benk (mostly in the shade) to Mazzano Romano (3.5 km, 1.5h) or down to Calcata vechia (7km). There are also shuttles from Mazzano, so you can leave your car at the end of the trail. The walking is not so difficult, and right now there's a single river crossing that is very easy (Tip: just cross carefully through the stones, it's very shallow, less than your shoe soles). Wonderful day trip for the whole family. Ah, and in weekends it is recommended to start your visit early, otherwise the place is starting to be crowded."
