What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Castello di Querceto for its beautiful Tuscan setting, historic castle, and the quality of its Chianti wines. However, some find the wine tasting experience to be expensive and less engaging than at other wineries, with occasional issues regarding service attentiveness and winter heating.
"We had a wonderful visit to Castello di Querceto. The tour of the castle, grounds, and winery was excellent – the castle itself is beautiful and the views over the valley are stunning.
We tasted three of their red wines: the Chianti Classico Riserva 2020, the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione “La Corte” 2020, and the Cignale 2019 (Colli della Toscana Centrale). Each one showed impressive character and depth. The Riserva was elegant with great balance, the Gran Selezione had wonderful structure with smooth tannins and a long finish, and the Cignale was powerful and complex with layers of dark fruit and spice.
An unforgettable experience combining history, landscape, and outstanding wines — highly recommended for anyone visiting Chianti."

"The castle is in a very nice location to explore the region. They offered a wine tasting and a tour in the property that was super nice! We had a great time exploring the area.
However I don't recommend going in the winter. We had very cold nights and the heating system wasn't enough to properly warm the apartment. We communicated this with the hotel but they didn't offer a solution."

"We did not stay at night, but we did the wine tasting tour.
Overall it's an okay tour and expensive (almost 40€) for what it is.
It was very expensive compared to other locations where we did a similar tour (In France it's free. But we paid wine tasting in Spain, Portugal, Lebanon, Romania, South Africa). As well, the tour is polite but you don't feel the passion / the love / the commitment compared to other places we have travelled to. it gives the impression it was nothing more than work for the guide.
We have just had much better and engaging times in other wineries. Explanations are okay, but nothing exceptional.
The fact we did this tour in December limited the options around. There is no regret on our side, but the ratio experience/cost could be higher"
