The Fountain of the Nymph is a distinctive, recently restored historical landmark in Castelvetrano's central piazza. While appreciated for its beauty and architectural significance, some visitors note that it's not always active with water or lit, which can detract from its charm. It's considered a worthwhile stop for a photo opportunity for those interested in local history.

"A distinctive multi-tiered fountain in the historic center of Castelvetrano. It's a shame that when we passed by (several times, on different days), there was no water or lighting, which would certainly have made it more charming. For enthusiasts, it's worth a stop for a beautiful photo."

"The Fountain of the Nymph, or more commonly known as the Ninfuzza di lรฌ cannoli, is located in Piazza Umberto I and was built in 1615 by Neapolitan Orazio Nigrone as the completion of the aqueduct that brought water from the Bigini springs into the city. It is a fountain with four tiers of basins, approximately 10 meters high. Initially, it topped with a classical entablature and a small attic supported by columns, later replaced by a crown featuring the city's coat of arms, a palm tree, accompanied by an inscription. A niche on the fourth tier houses a marble statue of a nymph holding an amphora from which water flows in her right hand. Between the first and second basins is a marble plaque bearing the names of the then King of Spain, Philip III, the regent Prince of Castelvetrano, John of Aragon, the Jurors of the University, as the municipality was then called, the designer, and finally the date of its construction."
