Unpopular opinion; We’re tourists in Italy—we need to stop asking how to avoid other tourists when doing tourist things..
I’ve spent a lot of time over the last 30 years visiting Italy. I’ve been from Northern Italy to Southern Sicily, and here is the thing: I’m a tourist. I want to see the big tourist things, hence I will always be surrounded by other tourists. And that is fine. If you go to Rome…

"A one-star rating is almost too much. August 11, 2025: Demographic Office. Opening hours. I'm about to enter at 11:10 AM. Of the seven counters, only two are open. At 12:10 PM, more or less at the end of public hours, one of them closes, leaving everyone speechless. Despite the sole operator being armed with saintly patience, service has inevitably suffered some truly shameful delays. I wonder if our mayor is aware of these third-world dynamics. I think so!"
