"The Co-Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta in Cervia (also known as the Duomo di Cervia) was built between 1699 and 1702 at the initiative of Bishop Francesco Riccamonti as the dominant feature of the new city center. The Latin cross-shaped church features a simple, unfinished façade and a sparse interior, adorned with barrel vaults and six side chapels on either side of the nave. The interior contains five altars, including the main altar, featuring a painting of the Madonna della Neve by Giovanni Barbiani, as well as works by Francesco Longhi and Camillo Procaccini. The Co-Cathedral dominates Piazza Garibaldi, and behind it stands the bell tower and the bishop's palace, integral to the city's historic architecture."
