What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Riva Vena is praised for its beautiful canal-side setting, especially during sunset and lively evening events. Many visitors enjoy the fresh seafood and the charming Italian atmosphere. However, some reviews mention inconsistent service and food quality, suggesting a need for careful restaurant selection.
"This place was recommended to us (5 total) by our tour guide. He said the place had excellent seafood.
Service was very slow and the waiters had negative attitudes. We felt like they didn't want to serve us.
Both my husband and I ordered the pasta with clams. About 6-7 minutes later, we were told they didn't have anymore clams. We ordered something different. I had the pasta carbonara, which the pasta was way too al dente, thick rubbery pasta. The bacon was thick and very salty.
About 10 minutes into our lunch, I saw two people at different tables being served pasta with clams! That made us angry. We felt like they didn't treat us like they did with the other customers. We they regulars? That shouldn't matter if that was the case.
My husband had the linguini Sorana, (sausage and mushroom) which tasted good. My friends said their meals were okay.
Overall, a very disappointing lunch."

"Amazing restaurant and pizzeria! We had a fantastic “antipasto” (starter) with a lot of different fishes, which was delicious. I then had grilled mixed grilled fish - super simple and extremely tasty. My sister in law had pizza without gluten and she was ecstatic! 10/10 will go again"

"Absolutely perfect restaurant!! The food was delicious, I have absolutely no notes on that, I have to say it was just perfect without a fault. Service? There were moments where we had a bit of confusion in communication as we don’t speak Italian, but to be honest we didn’t mind. The servers were extremely attentive in the best way and incredibly helpful. And the atmosphere - come and take a look for yourself as dining here, near the canal is an unforgettable experience. 10/10 no notes."
