What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Duomo Bell Tower and Roman Cistern for its fascinating historical insights and the refreshing, cool environment of the underground tunnels. The guided tours are often highlighted as informative and engaging, with guides frequently commended for their friendliness and willingness to explain information in multiple languages. However, some tours can be crowded, especially in the narrow cistern passages, and language barriers can be an issue if English explanations are brief or absent.
"So we went off season, and our tour was crowded. The tunnels are very narrow, so it was single file all the way until you get to the cistern. There was maybe 10 or 12 people. Any more, and it would have been super clostriphobic. Our tour was in Italian, like 5 minutes and English 1 minute, and at the start, no English. We were in the back, and it was hard it hear. If it wasn't for the tower at the end, it would have gotten 1 or 2 stars. The toilet was under restoration so we didn't have time to go before the tour."

"Very interesting, quite amazing piece of history.
Our guide was very friendly and she gave us a lit of information. She also did everything twice, in italian then english, because we were a mix group. A very big thank you!"
