Reviews Summary

Visitors find Civita di Tarquinia Ara della Regina to be a magical, albeit challenging, experience for those who appreciate Etruscan history and wild landscapes. While the site's historical significance and natural beauty are praised, many lament its poor maintenance, faded signage, and difficult access. It's a place that offers a unique adventure for the determined traveler.

"Top"

Oreste Bertoni

"I'd give it three stars, but not for the historical site, which is wonderful. I can't give it full marks because the place isn't well signposted. When you reach the road, you have to continue along a dirt road that isn't in the best condition. There's a parking lot, also unpaved. From there, you can access it on foot along a dirt path. There are uncultivated fields all around. Once you reach the top, the archaeological area is fenced off and the gate is locked. I noticed there were other explanatory panels around it, so there are probably other small ruins as well, but nature has taken over and it's impossible to get there.
It's a shame that everything is so abandoned and unkempt. It's a place that deserves better. Don't go during the hottest months."

Asha Nyla

"The site is also very interesting for its landscape. It's a shame the explanatory signs are in such a disrepair, they're illegible!"
