Visitors praise the Abbazia di Santa Maria del Patire for its sublime, peaceful atmosphere and well-maintained grounds, making it a gem for quiet contemplation and picnics. However, inconsistent opening hours and the challenging mountain road are noted drawbacks.
"Santa Maria del Patire is a nice little church in the mountains near Corigliano. It has a nice mosaic floor and cloister. The only real downside is the 6km mountain pass road, even though you can also hike up if you want."

"a beautiful place to spend time as ones prefers. Its history provides a window into the life as it was 11 century onward. This was my second visit, both times, to my disappointment the church was closed. The first time scouting the premises i found someone to permit us into the church. my recent visit again church locked, no one about. however as we arrived about 1:30 pm, 2 cars left. NOT A WORD SPOKEN. I believe they were park attendants leaving for lunch. I was told later by a friend they church is locked at 2 pm. I did not find this info on the site. in fact i read open 10-19 hrs. so beautiful place to rest and relax, peaceful but to see and learn very poor."
