Visitors praise the Museo della Ceramica Cutrofiano for its excellent guided tours and detailed historical explanations, highlighting the passion of its former director, Salvatore Matteo. "Great museum and excellent tour guide!"

"Many Salento residents aren't familiar with it, nor are many local ceramists.
The Museum's foundation was the result of the intuition and hard work of Salvatore Matteo, who engaged the community of Cutrofiano and guided us on this fascinating tour. Since its inception, the Museum has coexisted with the municipal library, which over time has developed a substantial section dedicated to ceramic studies. Indeed, the Museum has become an important national institution, as demonstrated by the Quaderni del Museo della Ceramica (Books of the Ceramics Museum), where numerous scholars, not only local but also nationally and internationally renowned, have presented their work in the successful editorial series.
During the tour, Salvatore Matteo also told us about the town's art of pottery, the discovery of Cutrofiano's Roman kiln, and the ancient and laborious work, through the vivid testimony of the places that accompany the visitor and immerse him in a past and a reality that no longer exist."
