Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Palazzo del Podestà for its well-maintained, recently renovated interiors that beautifully contrast historic brick with modern materials. The views of Piazza del Popolo are a highlight, though some note that only the main hall and temporary exhibitions are typically accessible, limiting exploration of the entire building.

"I visited part of the building during the record fair; it seems to have been recently renovated, and in fact it appears decidedly well-kept and tidy. I liked the contrast between the construction materials used: the iconic brick exterior that characterizes the building, contrasting with the velvety wood and the rigorous bronzed metal used inside, making the atmosphere classic yet elegant and contemporary. The large windows also offer a discreet view of the central Piazza del Popolo. 𝔰𝔥𝔬𝔲𝔱! 𝔰𝔥𝔬𝔲𝔱! 𝔰𝔥𝔬𝔲𝔱 𝔞𝔱 𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔡𝔢𝔳𝔦𝔩!"

"This is the most important and significant point in the city, both for its role as the seat of administrative and political power and for its symbolic significance. The square is obviously of ancient origin, but it began to take on the appearance that still characterizes it today in the 15th century, with the construction of the loggia of Palazzo Manfredi. Construction began after the transformation of the ancient city government into a seigniory and the Manfredi family moved into the town hall. At that time, the palace was renovated and the upper floor was enriched with mullioned windows in white Istrian stone (only one remains) and a large, two-story loggia with seven arches. This was the initial core of the loggia, later expanded in the 17th century with the intention of unifying the entire side of the square, giving it a highly distinctive architectural definition."

"Not much to see. A very beautiful building, but unfortunately, there aren't many rooms open to visitors other than the large hall where a temporary exhibition was held. The beautiful wooden ceiling is noteworthy, but not much else to see other than the exhibition and the lovely view of Piazza del Popolo."
