Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Basilica di San Paterniano for its beautiful and evocative interior, particularly the stunning frescoes adorning the dome and apse. The contrasting architectural styles of the chapels and the peaceful atmosphere are also frequently highlighted. However, one visitor reported a negative experience with a priest who was perceived as rude when closing the church.

"Beautiful church"

Tilen JK

"A very evocative church located in the heart of Fano. The façade is typical of almost all the city's churches; it's simple and unspectacular. The roof is gabled. Inside, it's divided into three naves, separated by round arches supported by composite capitals. What's particularly striking about this church is its fully decorated dome. It's also interesting to see how the color of the apse's semi-dome (also fully frescoed) perfectly complements that of the dome. Flanking the altar are two chapels in contrasting styles: the one on the left is Baroque/Rococo, while the one on the right is classical, a very simple style. A visit is a must.

"very beautiful church, it's a shame that the priest rudely chased us away because he had to close, and I was with a newborn baby... it would have been enough to say it calmly and politely, and thank goodness we were in the house of the Lord where we should feel welcomed."
