What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Farm Cultural Park as a fantastic initiative that has revitalized Favara's historic center through contemporary art and social commentary. The park is lauded for its inspiring story, vibrant exhibitions, and the positive impact it has had on the local community, transforming a once-desolate area into a lively cultural hub.
"A visit to Favara will show you what a desperate place SW Sicily is, but the Cultural Park Farm (there's no farm) shines a light on human problems around the world, including South Sudan, the DRC and more. We visited during a weekday siesta and were the only people there. The receptionist even closed the entrance and took us up the road to a ruined palazzo which has been transformed into a 'human forest'. Definitely worth a visit."

"Fantastic initiative in what seemed like a difficult environment to me
Bravo!"

"This is a must where to go and visit. It is interesting the story of this place.
the old city center of Favara got desolated since people started moving in the outskirts. The house were old and dangerous. In 2010 a building collapsed and killed 2 kids. After this event a rich notary decided to invest in the city center in order to renew it and let people feel interested again in it. A lot of international artists come here periodically to paint walls and drawings which are then given to the community.
It is a very interesting social experiment where the effort of a small group of people may change the sort of a unknown city.
Now the city is full of hotels and B&B, something unthinkable tens years ago.
The place is full of restaurants and pubs. A lot of young people hang out here, especially in summer time.
I definitely recommend it!"
