Reviews Summary

Mercato Centrale is a vibrant hub offering a fantastic array of food options, from traditional Florentine dishes to international cuisine. Visitors praise the quality of ingredients and the lively atmosphere, though some note it can get very crowded and finding seating can be a challenge. The ground floor market provides an authentic local experience, while the upstairs food hall is a modern culinary delight.

"An array selections of food variety to choose from pasta, pizza, sandwiches, baked goods, fried chicken, beef strips. Including decadent espresso, cappuccino even wines and beers. Keep your receipt to scan into toilet for entry.

Downstairs is a market for meats, chicken, pork, even wines and pasta stores. Parking spot tough."

Rod Mucio

"This market is a must visit, there’s a lot to see and experience for local culture and international culinary delights.

You can find fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, cheese, and other local ingredients including spices and oils and much more. There’s a food court that has a wide range of local dishes, international cuisine and a variety of drinks.

It’s also a great place to taste a little bit of everything as they also have bite size portions and maybe a quick bite or a full meal.

Make sure you don’t miss the food stall upstairs, it does get pretty busy and we struggled to find a place to sit but we did eventually. Also if you buy anything keep the receipt in case you need to use the toilet or else you’ll need to pay €1."

Ameliah M

"You can't visit Florence without stopping by il Mercato Centrale Firenze! It’s an essential part of the experience. We had a wonderful time sampling delicious food and pastries there; it was such a delightful adventure! Afterward, exploring the street market outside was fantastic, too. We discovered some great leather goods at prices much lower than in Rome!"
