Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Museo Opificio delle Pietre Dure as a 'precious gem' and a 'must-see' for its stunning collection of Florentine mosaic art. The intricate detail and historical significance of the pietra dura works are frequently highlighted, along with the friendly and helpful staff. Some reviewers noted the museum's small size and wished for more reproduction cards, but overall, it's considered a unique and worthwhile experience. Reddit

"I highly recommend this museum! The museum is small, but the works of art are stunning (there are papers with translations). You learn about how the stone artwork at the cappelle medici was made, but includes some novel pieces. You can finish in about 30 minutes, so I recommend going."

Tirza Angerhofer

"Beautiful collection, very interesting too and the museum staff is very friendly and helpful. Only thing missing are nice reproductions on cards from the artworks, for example some photos of the pietre dure birds on cards would have been lovely. But the museum is a must see for me!"

Mireille Cornelis

"The palazzo pitti looks like an army barracks from the outside. Inside the pictures are poorly lit with light reflecting off the paintings in such a way that it is difficult to appreciate them. There was insufficient information about each of the pictures. The treasury was interesting. We did not have time to see the fashion museum. The Boboli Gardens were delightful except when it was time to leave when over the loudspeaker came orders to leave which made it sound like a prison. It seems to need better curating."
