What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Uffizi Gallery for its unparalleled collection of Renaissance masterpieces, calling it a must-visit for art lovers. The sheer volume of iconic artworks, from Botticelli to Leonardo da Vinci, is a major highlight. However, some find the sheer scale overwhelming and recommend booking tickets well in advance to manage crowds and avoid long waits.
"Great museum in Florence featuring the personal art collection of the Medicis. It’s an extensive collection with a good number of artworks that will instantly be recognizable to many. It also has a good number of deeper cuts for people with a strong interest in art history or the Medici family.
Several quick tips:
1- the Uffizi gallery app provides a more intuitive guide to the art than the audio guide available at the museum. It’s also cheaper. Much of the content is free, the rest can be unlocked for 1.99.
2- the cafe on the roof serves a good cup of coffee with good views of the city."

"We bought tickets a couple of months before our visit and got them for the earliest time slot possible. Even doing this, I recommend arriving as early as possible. We got to the entrance 15 minutes before the museum opened and there was already a line. That being said, the museum is huge and early in the morning crowds weren't bad at all! We ran right upstairs to the Botticelli rooms, and got to have them all to ourselves. Absolutely amazing. Everything in this museum from the architecture to the artwork itself is beautiful."

"The place is amazing. I really like art and museum is full of painting and statues.
I prefare modern art, but this the roots of the art
It's amazing!
We visited with chatGPT and got sone explanations.
It's very religious painting so sometimes it is too much. You need to know also the the Roman mythology.
It's funny because red hats were symbolize the Cardinal, and sometime the pantheon who ordered the painting wanted to be inside as a signature.
Worth a visit took us around 2.5 hours."
