Reviews Summary
Visitors find Villa Saffi House Museum to be a little-known gem worth exploring, appreciating its historical significance and the preserved furnishings. The surrounding park is also a highlight for its tranquility. Some visitors note that parts of the museum may be closed due to renovations, and booking in advance is essential.
"A 19th-century residence in San Varano, it was acquired by the Municipality of Forlì in July 1988 and by the Saffi heirs. The building, originally a Jesuit convent, was purchased in 1740 by Count Tommaso Saffi, Aurelio's great-grandfather, and used as a summer residence. Aurelio Saffi lived there for a long time, and died here on 10 April 1890. His memory and that of the historical events in which he was a protagonist or participant is very present in the furnishings and in the paper and decorative materials preserved here, without forgetting that the villa was also the site of Carbonari meetings."
