What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Valle Cavanata Nature Reserve is a free, precious natural gem praised for its incredible birdwatching opportunities, including flamingos and purple herons. Visitors appreciate the helpful staff and accessible observation hides. However, the visual impact can be reduced during dry summer months when water levels are low, affecting bird proximity.
"As a birdwatcher it was amazing to discover so many bird species so easy to observe. It was not in my plan to visit this place and I spend most of the day in the nearby Isola della Cona. I arrived only at sunset to take just a look at this place and didn't expect to much. But it was a pure magic to see all this birds at one place. And for free."

"Great place, easy to reach, hundreds of flamingos"

"Free entry.
The person in the office is very nice, he will tell you where to go and the path is clearly indicated. Not many ways where to go though.
Unfortunately the lack of water this summer changed negatively the look of the park and many birds were not there (sometimes nothing to see in the watching spots).
The flamingos also were quite far to be observed.
I suggest to go in a period when there's more water, so more birds, and definitely go with binoculars"
