"I've always been fascinated by the history of this church, built outside the city walls directly on the sea. In fact, it was built so that the sea would be part of it, with a floor sloping toward the shore to allow fishing boats to enter at high tide. Today, with various restoration works, the slope of the floor has also changed, but I'm happy it has been reopened and everyone can visit it because it is a rare example of a Romanesque-Byzantine church with its bell gable and its distinctive dome. "Located right on the seafront, this church with a distinctive Gothic-style bell tower is striking. Upon entering, you're struck by the style and antiquity of the artifacts. Under the altar is a Roman sarcophagus from the early centuries flanked by lions, while the cross between the lions was placed in the Middle Ages, erasing the Roman inscription. Other capitals and column bases are Roman. Then there are the stunning frescoes from the early Middle Ages. Under the monstrance are the relics of Saints Zenobius and others. Behind the priest's chair, the stone square is medieval. The linearity of the dome and columns is stunning."
