"The Island of Loreto rises in Lake Iseo , north of Monte Isola (BS), and is privately owned. Before becoming private property, it was inhabited for many centuries. This is a spectacular islet in the Iseo Lake, in a neo-Gothic style, with a small harbor, two towers and a magnificent Conifers Park. Since the island is a private property, so for this reason access for a visit is a little bit difficult, but the beauty of this place can be admired even by boat. I heard a rumor from locals that George Clooney has expressed interest in buying this place. It was only a rumour, but this is true that At the end of the fifteenth century the island was purchased by the Sisters of St. Chiara of Brescia, who installed a convent there. When I passed by this little island north of Montisola I tried to imagine what it was like, who lived in it, how it should be towalk in that park that changed color at the change of seasons. Yes, because the Island of Loreto is a small jewel set in the waters of Lake Iseo, a reserved place that few have the privilege of visiting. For this reason, when the possibility of putting a foot on it to attend a jazz concert was presented, I did not have to repeat it twice and purchased the package proposed by Visit Lake Iseo: concert on the island and transfer to and from Sale Marasino by boat. The island could be easily reached both from Sarnico and from the entire Bergamo shore. Many reach it by motorboat or sailboat, go around and then return home. But I also taken few photos of pedaloes and kayaks through my Nikon camera arriving a few dozen meters from the island to admire it up close. Really, I was lucky who had cross the walls, and then I could be able to take pictures of this island's inner beauty. Beautiful, mysterious, inaccessible ... these are the reasons that have seen contention for centuries and that in recent years has become part of the islands most sought after by VIPs and magnates. It seems that at the time when Clooney was still with Canalis, someone had spread the word that the actor wanted to buy it. Perhaps he just wanted to warn the town on Lake Como where his current villa is located that if they had not granted some building permit or other, he would have taken and gone to another lake, but the owner of the Island of Loreto had been obliged to specify that it was not for sale. How can you blame him? Is a dream!
