Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Keschtnweg Chestnut Trail for its stunning autumn scenery, particularly the vibrant chestnut groves and panoramic mountain views. The availability of charming wine taverns and historic churches adds to the cultural appeal. However, some caution is advised for dog owners due to potential encounters with farm animals on private property sections.

"Great hiking trail. We took the bus to Lengstein and from there walked the trail to Unterinn. The stated time was two and a half hours, but it took us just over four. Hiking fitness is required, but it was manageable for adults and teenagers 14 and older."

Thorsten B.

"The trail itself is great, but not necessarily recommended with a dog. The trail once crosses a property where a dog is running loose. We had our dog on a leash, and the dog attacked and bit him on the property. Fortunately, he wasn't injured. We would always avoid walking through a property with a dog running loose, but it wasn't possible here, and it wasn't foreseeable."

Miriam Kalkgruber

"Easter Monday and great weather—what more could you want while hiking? Plenty of unspoiled trails, a few mountain huts to stop for a break. There's even a vending machine with chilled drinks—where else can you find that? The return journey, 18 km, is a comfortable one, and then the bus to the hotel in Brixen—it couldn't be better."
