The peaceful setting within the monumental cemetery is frequently highlighted as a positive aspect, with many appreciating the knowledgeable volunteer guides who enhance the experience.
"Looking back 500 years and find beauty, art and harmony. A Romanic church with Leccese Baroque, Moorish and almost-Gothic add-ons. The guide from FAI was the most graceful and competent of the ladies. Thank you!"
Elisabetta A.
"A lovely peaceful church."
Marlene Maillard
"One of those churches that couldn't decide whether it wanted to be Norman, Gothic, or Baroque, and simply combined them all. Outside, a façade from 1716 that gently tries not to drown out all its history; inside, Gothic arches and colorful frescoes, as if the centuries had quietly agreed to work in shifts. Originally part of a monastery, today it lies picturesquely in the old cemetery—a place that says, "Keep calm, nothing is rushed culturally here." And somehow, there's something very calming about that."
