What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Scoglio della Regina is a charming rocky spot offering a refreshing sea experience and stunning sunset views, perfect for a quick dip or romantic moments. While it's a beautiful natural attraction, visitors should be mindful of slippery rocks and occasional noise from teenagers. The historical legends add a unique layer of appeal to this coastal gem.
"Sweet rocky spot to cool down in the sea within town. So, if one has limited time for a quick dip, or just wanna have some romantic gazing time on the sea horizon - this is a nice place and even for kids looking for some crabs among the big rocks.
The only price one has to pay sometimes is the noise from teenagers hanging around sometimes with their loud speakers."

"The Scoglio della Regina was once a popular bathing house in Livorno but after decade of decay and neglect, it has lost its splendour and is no longer in active use. The building was once earmarked to become a high tech research centre but until today the building remains derelict.
The square and the edges of the building however provide a great spot and the direct access to the water for swimmers and sunbathers. If you decide to dip into the water, make sure that you tread carefully on the marble rocks that can become quite slippery when wet."

The Legends of Scoglio della Regina
These legends are a significant draw for visitors, offering a narrative that complements the visual splendor of the location. The rock itself, a majestic formation rising about 20 meters above sea level, has been recognized since Roman times, known then as 'Petra Majura.' Its dramatic presence on the Tyrrhenian coast makes it a focal point for both local pride and tourist interest, embodying the enchanting allure of Calabria.
Coastal Experience and Safety
However, the beauty of the marble rocks comes with a caution: they can become quite slippery when wet. Visitors, especially those with children, are advised to tread carefully to avoid accidents.
